
Georges Mischo
Esch-sur-Alzette Mayor
Georges Mischo was born in 1974. He studied sports in Saarbrücken and used to be a sports teacher in his professional life, as well as a triathlete. Before he became the Mayor of Esch-sur-Alzette in 2017, he had been a member of the Esch municipal council for three years. At the level of the municipality, his main responsibilities are Finance, Public Relations, Mobility and Sports.
In 2018, he was elected Member of Parliament for the first time. At the level of the Luxembourg Parliament, he is a full member of seven parliamentary committees.
In addition, he is Chairman of the board of the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch, Chairman of the board of the European Capital of Culture Esch2022 and Chairman of the National Resistance Museum in Esch-sur-Alzette.
